Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that the country does not want to negotiate with Russia on extending the agreement on gas transit to Europe. According to him, the gas transportation system of Ukraine, if desired, can be used without the transit of Russian fuel.
The agreement signed between Russia and Ukraine expires in 2024. The press service of the Ukrainian government previously stated that the country does not intend to “negotiate with the Russians and renew the contract.”
