After his release from prison in the summer, the judge had ordered him to be prohibited from approaching the woman through the use of electronic bracelet.

Ben Alaya Abdelkader, after a few weeks in prison due to the mistreatment perpetrated against his ex-wife, was released from prison in August as the judge deemed not socially dangerous except to his wife.

For this reason, he was ordered to use an electronic bracelet, a device that allows for remote electronic control of individuals under house arrest or under the precautionary measure of removal from the family home. A security measure that is one of those in force to combat gender violence.

So, if Abdelkader had approached less than a certain distance, Roua’s cell phone should have automatically activated. an alarm application with which the woman could have immediately notified the police. An application that, apparently, the other evening, the evening of the murder, did not work.

Among the hypotheses being examined by investigators regarding the device’s failure to function could be the possibility that the woman had the application is disabled. Even if this were true, however, that is, that the alarm did not go off from his cell phone, the electronic bracelet it should have been geolocated anyway.
