They are the best models in their class in terms of 48-volt technology in their respective segments. Improved safety guaranteed by comprehensive driving assistance devices
The new 500X Hybrid and Type Hybrid complete the electrification of the Fiat range, which will be
available from april, a path that began with the 500 Hybrid and the Panda Hybrid and continued with the new 500 and the electric-powered Ulysse. Now comes the launch of these two models, with the new 48-volt Hybrid engine. “Our path towards sustainable mobility for all continues, with the goal of launching a new vehicle every year, starting in 2023.
Each model will have an electric motorto achieve a fully electric range from 2027″, he stated.
Olivier FrancoisCEO of Fiat and CMO of Stellantis.
The collaboration with (RED) also continues: the 500X Hybrid and Tipo Hybrid are launched in the special series with (RED) trim level, constantly contributing to spreading the message that each of us can do our part to a good cause and collaborate with (RED) in its fight against pandemics.
All versions of the 500X and Type equipped with the hybrid engine also feature the ‘Hybrid’ logo on the tailgate, made up of two dew-drop blades in blue, a brighter shade than that used on the 500. and in the Panda, to denote the technological evolution of the engine.
The secret of the performance of these models lies in the synergy between the latest generation FireFly engine, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol that can develop up to 130 hp with a torque of 240 Nm, and the 48-volt electric motor and 15 kW, controlled by the new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Courtesy of advanced hybrid technology, the FireFly’s power is backed by a 100% electric silent-start BSG electric motor and the e-motor that improves efficiency and vehicle dynamics. In this way, the car can travel with the internal combustion engine switched off.
In particular, the 500X Hybrid is the ideal car for young people who are looking for a unique style, who move around the city every day but who also like to travel without restrictions. They pay attention to technology, but above all to sustainability and consumption. The exterior appearance has been renewed: the front shows off the new ‘500’ logo, while the rear includes the dynamic ‘Fiat’ inscription, synonymous with belonging and character.
For its part, the Type Hybrid is the ideal vehicle for families looking for a versatile and functional car to meet daily travel needs, also thanks to the reintroduction of the automatic gearbox in the range. The Tipo is a go-anywhere vehicle, from the inner city to out-of-town trips; a practical and spacious vehicle that respects the environment. It is available in four trim levels (Tipo, City Life, City Cross and Cross), all with the sedan body variant and as a very spacious station wagon.
Likewise, both models also lead their respective segments for their optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), to facilitate driving and avoid possible risks. Among the main safety features offered, it is worth highlighting the Fatigue Alert System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition and Blind Spot Detection, among others. And to help make life on board even more practical and easy, it has a keyless opening and starting system, a rear view camera and a wireless mobile phone charger (the latter only available on the Type Hybrid). The charger provides a true flow of energy (three times that of the best-selling smartphones) and offers a fast charge of 15 watts.
