The parliamentary groups will write the paper on Tuesday and approve the opinion on Wednesday to send the regulatory proposal to the Senate
The Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP) so that the Mar Menor has legal rights will take an important step forward next week: the members of the committee in charge of processing this regulatory project in the Congress of Deputies will meet on Tuesday to agree on a text legal that will be analyzed the next day in the Ecological Transition Commission. This body will issue an opinion and the legal norm will be completed and ready to be sent to the Senate, where it will be approved since it has previously had the express support of all political parties, except Vox.
The president of the Commission for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of the Congress of Deputies, Juan López de Uralde, explained yesterday to LA VERDAD that “he does not expect discrepancies” in this final phase of the processing of the ILP of the Mar Menor, a law of unprecedented legal avant-garde in Europe through which the lagoon will have its own rights, like a person.
A Committee of Representatives, which will have thirteen members (three from the State Administration, three from the Autonomous Community and seven members of the promoter group of the ILP), will be able to make “proposals for actions for the protection, conservation, maintenance and restoration of the lagoon salty and its basin». And the riverside and basin municipalities will be represented in the Monitoring Commission, as well as economic, business, social, trade union and environmental groups.
