The theoretical exam is one of the procedures that must be passed in order to obtain a driving license. Generally, until it is known whether you have passed or not, this is usually a very nervous moment. Until now, the result of the tests that have been taken on a computer can be known the same afternoon of the day of the exam, starting at 5 p.m., while those that are done, on paper, like the practical exam, at next day, starting at 5 p.m.

However, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), as of this week, offers applicants who appear at any Provincial Traffic Headquarters the possibility of knowing the result of the theoretical exam only one hour after taking it. To do this, they will have to register in Cl@ve, something that they can do at the same time as taking the test, and download the MiDGT app. The only exception is for those who take the dangerous goods test and the recovery of the permit due to loss of validity.

It is essential to identify yourself through Cl@ve to access this tool that the DGT makes available to drivers. Its implementation after the pilot project that was carried out in Bilbao and Zaragoza and has been gradually implemented in the rest of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters.

According to the DGT, this new service “is about a general improvement in the digital relationship of citizens with the Administration that will not only allow them to carry out procedures related to traffic, but also in any other area of ​​their life.”

What other uses does MiDGT have?

Furthermore, thanks to the download of this application, beyond knowing the results of the tests, it also allows you to have the provisional driving license on your mobile phone, thus also reducing the waiting times involved in the procedure to be carried out between the DGT and driving schools. And, of course, once the final permit has been issued, people who have the application will have said digital driving license on their mobile phone, with the same validity as the permit in physical format, as long as it is circulated in Spain. .

In addition, you can also carry out procedures from it such as modifying the tax address or requesting a vehicle report, paying your fines, as well as purchasing fees to carry out your procedures or share the documentation of your vehicles.
