Sources close to the family assure that the main target was the philosopher, who was supposed to go with her in the car, but got into another vehicle.
The daughter of Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin, Daria Dugina, died this Saturday when the car she was traveling in exploded outside Moscow. According to Andrei Krasnov, a leader of the Russky Gorizont movement and an acquaintance of the family, she was driving the car which “was completely on fire, lost control because she was driving at high speed and was blown up to the opposite side of the road”. The investigators are considering several possibilities, since it is not clear who is responsible for the alleged attack, including the option that it is a Ukrainian revenge or a settling of scores by the Russian elite. Daria, 30, always supported her father’s ideas and appeared several times on state television to defend the invasion of Ukraine.

“As I understand it, the target was Dugin himself directly, but maybe it was both of them,” Krasnov said. The first reports suggest that a device, presumably installed in the young woman’s Toyota Land Cruiser, exploded when the vehicle was traveling at high speed on public roads around nine o’clock at night.
Several Russian media suggest the possibility that the attack was initially directed against her father, who was supposed to go with her in the car, but got into another vehicle. “The terrorists of the Ukrainian regime, in an attempt to eliminate Alexander Dugin, have killed his daughter,” the head of state of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Pushilin, wrote on Telegram tonight.
Alexander Dugin, leader of the Eurasian Movement, is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is credited with being the “spiritual guide” to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and is often described as “Putin’s brains.”
