Since his rise to power, the Morena government has been the subject of critics and concerns increasing due to their negligent management and its decisions unrelated to any public interest. Throughout his tenure, there have emerged multiple crises that have deeply affected Mexico, ranging from security to education, health, agriculture and water supply. Are crisisfueled by the waste of public resources, the alliance with groups outside the law and the neglect of social problems, have left the country in a state of despair and mistrust.
One of the crisis most pressing is that of security. Under the Morena governmentviolence rates have reached alarming levels, with a significant increase in homicides, kidnappings, assaults and extortions. The lack of a security strategy is evident due to its ineffectiveness and lack of coordination between law enforcement agencies. Additionally, numerous complaints have emerged about the government's alleged collaboration with criminal groups, which has further eroded citizen trust in government institutions.
The budget crisis It is another worrying aspect of the management of Brunette. Despite having abundant resources, the government was unable to properly manage public money, which has led to excessive waste and a lack of transparency in the management of funds. Corruption scandals have been rife, with high-ranking officials being accused of illicit enrichment and embezzlement.
In it educational field, the situation is no less discouraging. The lack of investment and attention from the government has left many schools in precarious conditions, with deteriorated infrastructure and poor quality of teaching. Furthermore, political polarization has permeated the educational system, with attempts at ideological manipulation and censorship in curricular content.
The agricultural crisis has also hit Mexico hard during the Morena government. The lack of effective policies to support farmers and promote domestic production has led to a deterioration in the agricultural sector, with devastating consequences for the country's rural economy and food security. Dependence on agricultural imports has increased, exacerbating Mexico's vulnerability to fluctuations in international prices and supply crises.
Last but not least is the water crisis. Despite being one of the countries with the greatest water resources in Latin America, Mexico faces serious problems of water scarcity and pollution. The lack of effective policies for sustainable water management has exacerbated this crisis, endangering both access to drinking water and the health of aquatic ecosystems.
In short, Morena's bad government has plunged Mexico into multiple crises that affect all aspects of daily life. Abuse of power, rampant corruption and neglect of addressing social problems have left the country in a desperate situation. To regain the trust and well-being of the population, a change of course and a real commitment to justice, transparency and the well-being of all Mexicans is essential, a commitment that Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz embodies.
Alejandro Moreno is national president of the PRI.
