The Court of Murcia confirms that businessman Juan Castejón will not go to prison, despite admitting abuse of minors

The Court of Murcia has rejected the Prosecutor’s appeal for Juan Castejón Ardid, one of those known as ‘businessmen of shame’ convicted in the minor prostitution plot, to be imprisoned. The Public Ministry considered that its responsibility was greater as it had paid to have sex with up to five teenagers between 14 and 17 years old when the network was uncovered in 2014.

Castejón will not be able to communicate with them for four years. She has also been subjected to behavioral re-education therapy on sexuality and compensation of 2,000 euros to each of her five victims, in addition to paying a fine of 3,600 euros.

‘El Petrolero’, as this businessman from Cartagena is known, always asked for “young and new girls to have sexual relations with.” The teenagers were captured at school, with job advertisements or in nightclubs. light after the deception and insistence of the pimps or ‘mommies’.

Vice president of the employers’ association of Cartagena and the Region of Murcia

Castejón is one of the businessmen convicted in the minor prostitution plot, but there were also school janitors, waiters and undertakers.

The real estate developer had been linked to the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations (COEC) of Cartagena for four decades, of which he became president between 1991 and 1995. Later, he was vice president of the employers’ association of Cartagena and Murcia. The COEC even gave him a Business Excellence Award in 2009. When the case broke, Castejón resigned from both groups.

When Castejón testified to the Police for the first time in November 2014, he assured that he knew Yesenia, the pimp of the plot who will not go to prison either, from when she ran the Manhattan massage parlor, located near Gran Vía in the Murcian capital.

When the place closed, Yesenia continued calling him to offer him girls in his apartment on Avenida Ciudad de Almería. Since the closure, according to the case summary to which elDiario.es/Murcia has had access, Yesenia would have offered him about twenty, always new at his request. For each contact he paid 100 euros, which he gave directly to ‘Yeni,’ as he was known, of which it is assumed that the girls received half.

When the Provincial Court of Murcia suspended Yesenia’s sentence, it considered that her participation in the plot had deserved “a lesser reproach” than the other members of the organization, “convicted of double or more crimes, which suggests that her involvement and “Their decision-making capacity in the aforementioned organization was also lower.”

In his statement he “assumes” that the girls with whom he had meetings were between 20 and 40 years old, but Castejón was the first client of a girl of just 17 years old, who Karina introduced to the businessman: “Nelly and she did the service jointly.” , knowing that he was 17 years old; He wanted to perform the complete service without a condom, neither of them agreeing and ending up giving them both fellatio,” the summary reads.

At the hearing for the suspension of the sentences, the judges asked Juan Castejón Ardid if he had any personal reason that made it impossible for him to go to prison. The businessman resorted to a stroke and heart surgery, in addition to a pacemaker. Also because he ran several companies.

Three ringleaders of the plot, to prison

The decade that has passed since the plot was discovered, which in law is known as undue delays, is what led to Castejón and the other seven ‘shame entrepreneurs’ who sexually abused minors – one of them died -, along with with the three pimps or ‘mommies’ and the two ‘pirate taxi drivers’ who brought and took the girls, reached an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office last September that substantially reduced the sorrows

Three of the convicted will go to jail – the pimps Ruth Karina Dorado and Nelly Paola Céspedes along with the illegal taxi driver Walter Domínguez, the former’s husband – but this will not be the case of the seven ‘businessmen of shame’ or the another ‘mommy’, Yesenia Mercedes Balladares, and the other ‘pirate taxi driver’, Martín Galo Dorado, brother of Ruth Karina. The Murcia Prosecutor’s Office has also appealed the suspension of imprisonment of the latter two for “forming a criminal gang.”
