The Coordination Table with powers in Gender Violence of Suances, convened by the Government Delegation in Cantabria, met recently to address, among other aspects, the sharing of the different cases of Gender Violence in the municipality, its follow-up and its current status.
This relevant event was chaired by the mayor of Suances, Andrés Ruiz Moya and was attended by Diana Mirones, Head of the Violence Against Women Coordination Unit of the Government Delegation in Cantabria; Ana Llamazares Head of the Equality and Coeducation Technical Unit; Antonio Carral, from the Viogen team; Rocío González, Equality technician at the Suances Women’s Office; the social workers of the Suances Health Center, Mónica Vargas, and the Suances City Council, Aída Fernández, as well as agents of the Civil Guard and the Suances Local Police, all of them with powers in Gender Violence.
Regarding the matter to be addressed, the Coordination Table reported on new forms of gender violence through the use of electronic devices, social networks, as well as the importance, In this sense, to train teachers and people in the public administration, so that they are able to detect the different forms of gender violence and know where to refer cases.
On the other hand, from the Delegation of the Government of Cantabria, Diana Mirones, presented the different new developments in resources for victims, giving great importance to the need for training and awareness to the maximum number of people possible, through Violet Points and others. tools that already exist.
THE SUANCES WOMEN’S OFFICE, AN EXAMPLE
Regarding the Suances Women’s Office, the good practices carried out by it throughout the year were highlighted, with this management receiving recognition from the Delegation of the Government of Cantabria as an example of good work and involvement in this matter. , encouraging the Suances Women’s Office to share its projects with other offices in the autonomous community of Cantabria.
