Speaking to “Sky News Arabia”, the promising Libyan actress Yaqeen Abdel Majid, the heroine of the work, expressed her happiness with the play’s success, welcoming the positive echoes it achieved.
The Libyan artist confirmed that “the theatrical performance’s success is due to several reasons, including its discussion of a problem facing the sons of the same fabric, as the play touched on solving the crisis of discrimination and internal conflicts caused by strangers to tear this fabric.”
Abdel Meguid revealed the events of the play, saying: “It revolves around a man (lute player) and a woman (teacher), who are brought together by the conditions of war, terrorism and fear into an abandoned boat that is not suitable for navigation, and each of them has his own story and circumstances that brought him there.”
And she continued, “The man, who is the owner of the boat, is trying to get rid of the woman because he believes that she is one of those who wreak corruption and murder on the land after a great conflict erupts between them, but events develop and he becomes certain that she is a victim like him.”
And she continued: “The woman is hiding from people who spread fear and panic in the hearts of humans and practice blind killing, and he is also afraid of strangers who broke the sticks that he and his grandparents made, except for one who was safe from sabotage, so he decided to stay in his boat and stay away from dealing with others, he sees that it is useless from leaving.”
The Libyan artist added: “Each of them is waiting for the departure of strangers to rebuild his entity again, and the two parties are trying to understand and meet at one point, but the end remains unknown.”
It is noteworthy that “Al-Mokab” participated in the seventh session of the Moroccan Festival of Amateur Theater in the Tunisian city of Nabeul, and won the main prize of the festival.
The play is starring Ezz El-Din Al-Duwaili and Yaqin Abdel-Majid, and directed by Sharh El-Bal Abdel-Hadi.
