Lucid Motors has not stopped being in the news in recent weeks. On the one hand, has just presented its new luxury electric SUV and rival to the Tesla Model X, the Lucid Gravity, in the United States. And on the other hand, it has become known that its controversial CEO and declared enemy of Elon Musk, Peter Rawlinson, has been sued by its shareholders.
Now, its general director for Europe, Alexander Lutzin an interview with the media Auto Motor Und Sporthas indicated some news about the company’s current affairs.
Lucid Motors’ compact electric SUV will arrive in Europe in 2027
The most important is that Lutz has confirmed that the next mid-size electric SUV that the company will launch to directly rival the best-selling model of Elon Musk’s company – the Tesla Model Y -, and whose arrival for the US market is scheduled for 2026; It will also reach the European market, although it will not do so until 2027.
This compact electric SUV from Lucid Motors will debut a cutting-edge technology platform that will be the basis, in the near future, for the company’s fourth model: a mid-size electric sedan and rival, of course, of Tesla Model 3.
But “until that date,” says Lutz, “we will focus on the commercialization of the Lucid Air -the 4.97 m long electric sedan and the brand’s first model- and, for next year, on Gravity”Lutz declared.
The Lucid Gravity, available in Europe next year
Around the Gravity, whose commercialization was also confirmed in Europe starting in the summer of 2025this executive explained that the brand has not yet set prices for the Old Continent market.

Regarding the aforementioned Lucid Airwhose sales began a few weeks ago in Europe through the German market, where the company had reached an agreement with Sixt for its commercialization through a monthly rental model – starting at 999 euros -, Lutz pointed out that they had already sold 700 units.
On the other hand, the company is recovering, although very slowly, the price of its shares, which fell to a minimum of $1.93 per share a few days ago, when it was announced the company’s shareholders’ lawsuit against Peter Rawlinsonwhich in 2022 would have pocketed 359 million euros by deceiving shareholders about the company’s real production capacity of its first model: the aforementioned Lucid Air saloon.
