Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to launch urgent measures to support those affected by the exceptional weather condition that the country witnessed recently.. The Dubai Community Development Authority announced the launch of the “Solidarity” initiative on the “Joud” platform for contributions. Community, with the aim of supporting those affected in Dubai by the effects left by the exceptional weather condition on homes and property, and providing the opportunity for those wishing from private sector institutions, businessmen and all members of society to support those affected, contribute to their compensation, and help them overcome this exceptional situation.
The launch of the initiative comes within the framework of the Community Development Authority’s membership in the “Committee to Support the Affected,” which His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, directed to form, and within the framework of the committee’s efforts to mobilize all capabilities to provide various possible forms of support, as it allows the initiative to be included on the platform. “Joud” digital platform facilitates participation and follow-up of the initiative’s achievements, as the requirements for supporting those affected and the achievements achieved will be updated around the clock in a way that ensures achieving the greatest benefit for them.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, confirmed that the conditions created by this emergency weather condition, and the effects it left behind, clearly demonstrated the extent of the cohesion of Emirati society and the strength of its cohesion in light of emergency situations, whether at the level of individuals or entities.
She said, “The Authority received many requests for contributions from businessmen and companies, all of whom expressed their desire to provide a helping hand to those affected. Presenting this initiative on the 'Joud' platform contributes to enabling individuals and companies wishing to help those affected, to easily provide financial support through which they can be compensated for what they suffer.” Their property and homes were damaged.
The amounts of financial contributions will be allocated to support affected people registered with the Community Development Authority and affected people registered with charities, institutions and entities participating in the “Jood” platform, which can be accessed via the link https://Jood.ae.
“Joud” is the first platform of its kind for community contributions, to attract companies, businessmen, institutions and individuals of various nationalities, in an effort to support the provision of the most effective and proactive social system in care and empowerment, by providing a guaranteed, reliable and approved channel for social responsibility contributions to sustainable projects to empower people. The community in the health, education and social support sectors, in order to achieve transparency and efficiency in benefiting from companies’ community contributions and achieving integration between the concerned authorities to support and develop the social sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
It is noteworthy that the Committee for the Care of Those Affected was formed under the chairmanship of His Excellency Omar Hamad Bushahab, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, and membership of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Department of Economy and Tourism.
