Jaume Collboni is mayor of Barcelona thanks to the support at the last minute of the commons, who preferred to support the socialist to let Xavier Trias pass. However, the divorce between Collboni and the old match of Ada Colau is extended day by day. This Friday, the Communs have joined a Juns proposal, which has also endorsed the PP, to reproduce the mayor for not having been able to carry out the budgets by 2025.
In the approved text, the opposition in the City Council has found “the inability” of Mayor Collboni and his government to reach agreements and the “weakness” of the Executive. The initiative also recalls that the government only has 10 councilors of 41, a “minority” that “disables” to respond to the challenges of the city. ERC has chosen to refrain while PSC and Vox have voted against.
Along the same lines, the opposition also claims the socialist executive “an urgent change” in their way of governing and urges the “dialogue, agreement and consensus with most municipal groups.”
The Junts initiative states that it is now governed “without a road map or project” and affirms that the lack of budgets for exercise 2025 implies “a serious damage” for the city.
The Government of Jaume Collboni maintained the negotiations for budgets with ERC and the Communs for a good part of December. While with the Republicans he could reach a pact, the understanding was impossible with the commons, now led by Janet Sanz. Both parties were accused of inflexibility and not having a true intention of reaching an agreement.
