The Civil Guard has confirmed that at least 13 people have died due to the ravages of the storm that has left dozens of people missing, caused damage and caused flooding throughout the Valencian Community.
Four lifeless bodies have been found in Paiporta; in Torrent, five, and in Chiva, Cheste, Alfafar and Alcudia one in each case.
The president of the Community, Carlos Mazón, has insisted on the importance of avoiding road travel. “That they protect their health and help the troops to be able to act,” Mazón asked in statements to the media this morning. These trips should not only be avoided in València, but also in Castellón, which is on yellow alert. “We have activated the multiple victim procedure,” indicated the president, who has not specified a specific number at the moment.
Mazón has explained that this procedure is activated to anticipate aspects of forensic medicine and identification of bodies. He also explained that a specific number has been enabled to report missing persons, telephone 900.365.112.
