The Potes City Council has installed 48 self-consumption photovoltaic panels that will cover the heated pools used by clubs, school activities and swimming courses. The objective is achieve cleaner and more sustainable energy, something that has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Commerce, through financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The mayor of Potes, Francisco Javier Gómez, has stated that this type of investment is “key” for the transition to a new energy model that helps the contribution and preservation of the environment, energy security and sustainable socioeconomic development.
GREEN ENERGY
Regarding investments in green energy, Gómez has insisted on continuing towards this reconversion. Thus, he has remembered that already All street lighting fixtures were replaced. and municipal buildings with LED technology and that 25 new lighting points will be installed to reinforce areas of low light on different streets of the municipality.
In addition, photovoltaic panels have already been installed in the Trulledes spring treatment plant, and it is planned to expand the installation of this type of panels to public schools.
