The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Russia has not received complaints about violations of the election campaign. This was reported to Izvestia in the press service of the department on Monday, August 29.
“Currently, the PEC of Russia has not received any complaints about violations of the procedure for conducting campaigning, requiring intervention from the PEC of Russia,” the CEC said.
In 2022, 43 election campaigns will be held in 34 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The Russians will have to elect 14 governors, as well as deputies of six legislative assemblies and 12 city dumas. In a number of subjects, including Moscow, where municipal elections are expected, voting will take place over several days – from 9 to 11 September.
On August 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a single voting day – September 11 – should be “carried out with dignity”, to provide the necessary conditions, security measures.
Putin added that all candidates running for the autumn elections in Russia should be treated objectively. He noted that among the candidates who were denied registration, there are representatives of various parties, including the ruling United Russia.
On August 18, the Central Election Commission said that competition during the single voting day on September 11 will be less intense than during the federal campaign in 2021. This is connected not only with a smaller number of participants, but also with the peculiarities of the political life of Russia.
