The Case of the Golden Idol has managed to carve out an excellent space both at Gamescom 2022 and at the Future Games Show, attracting attention even from developers of a certain level such as Lucas Pope (The Return of the Obra Dinn, Papers Please) and Sean Vanaman (Firewatch).
Playstack, the publisher, has revealed its release date, also announcing a large one demo available on Steam, so take a look at a title that looks really promising. The Case of the Golden Idol is a narrative detective game set in an alternative 18th century England in which players must investigate the 11 strangest and most gruesome deaths that have occurred over the span of forty years. Something terrible connects these tragedies, providing the player with a larger mystery to unravel.
“In an age where success on PC seems increasingly predetermined by genre and compatibility with streamers, Playstack has a mission to create success even for developers who disrupt trends, break boundaries and, above all, offer something great. . The Case of the Golden Idol is the perfect example of this. It is fearless, ingenious and beautiful. We love this project and rejoice to see the overwhelmingly positive response it evokes from those who play it“. – Harvey Elliot, CEO of Playstack.
The Case of the Golden Idol will arrive on 13 October on PC, via Steam.
