The 101 occupants of a canoe located in the waters of El Hierro arrived this morning at the La Restinga dock, among them two minors. This canoe has been one of those that has arrived in the Canary Islands since last night, with a total of 278 people in just a few hours and four boats.
The first pneumatic, with 67 people of sub-Saharan originincluding a girl, was located by a fishing boat around 00:28 hours about 107.4 kilometers (58 nautical miles) east northeast of Arrecife (Lanzarote).
A little later, at 01:51 a.m., an echo from the SIVE radar located the canoe that recently arrived in La Restinga, which was sailing 18.52 kilometers (10 nautical miles) south of El Hierro, where the Adhara sea rescuer went.
For its part, the sea guard Calíope rescued a boat with 50 peopleafter being sighted by a merchant ship, as occurred at 08:24 hours when another vessel alerted of another inflatable, with 60 peoplewho were also evacuated by said sea guard.
The migrants rescued by the Calíope sea guard are all of Maghreb origin and have been transferred to the Arrecife dock.
