Cervinia: Cielo Alto chairlift sabotaged
Sabotage action at the ski lifts on the Cervinia ski slopes: the steel cable of the Cielo Alto chairlift was in fact damaged, perhaps with a hose.
Cervino spa, the company that manages the area, filed a complaint with the police.
It is the third episode of this type in a few years at the foot of the “Gran Becca”: two similar situations had already occurred in 2015, between Cervinia and Valtournenche.
On Sunday in Cervinia all the ski lifts were closed due to strong winds at high altitude: only on Monday, in view of a partial reopening of the slopes, did the incident emerge.
The soldiers are at work to trace a possible identikit of the authors of the gesture, as well as the motive.
