In May the official account of Summer Game Fest had confirmed that 2K Games would herald the new chapter in a beloved saga. Many had considered the idea of BioShock 4, but also Mafia 4 or Borderlands 4 (everyone loves 4, it seems).
Furthermore, recently some sources had pushed more and more up Borderlands 4. It was Kurakasis who spoke, but he has now retracted the information, stating that he spoke too soon and that he can no longer confirm that the shooter will be present.
In fact, it seems that the game in question will be the seventh chapter of a well-known saga.
What is the game that will be shown at the Summer Game Fest
As you can see below, via the official 2K page it was possible to find a banner showing that the game scheduled for an announcement could be Sid Meier’s Civilization VII. Obviously the image appeared by mistake and the buttons to add it to the Wishlist and to see the trailer – as reported – were not working. The banner is also no longer active on the site.
Clearly, the fact that Sid Meier’s Civilization VII appeared on the official website does not mean that 2K Games cannot present more than a game during the Summer Game Fest. However, the official account of the event spoke of a single game and the Borderlands 4 rumor has been withdrawn, so it seems that we will have to “settle” for the latter.
In closing, we would like to point out that Sending a trailer during the Summer Game Fest costs publishers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
