Video game sales data in Europe for the first quarter of 2024 are available online. Overall, they were spent 1.01 billion euros from January to March: it is a –15% compared to the same period last yearwhich in turn was a drop compared to 2022. The biggest drop is especially for physical games (-20%), with digital seeing a -10%.
The area where the most sales are recorded is GSA (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), followed by the United Kingdom, France, Spain + Portugal. Italy gets fifth place, above the Nordic nations and the Belgium + Netherlands pair. In Italy, the decline in sales for the quarter compared to the same period last year was 14%, with 79 million spent. GSA is worth more than three times that of Italy, the United Kingdom almost three times and France more than double.
