Many European clubs inside and outside England are increasingly interested in the future of German international Antonio Rudiger, the heart of Chelsea’s defense, whose contract expires next June, and he is free to negotiate and sign with any club he wants.
Unlike Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, there is more than one English club, most notably Manchester United, all of which want to obtain the services of the strong defender, and lure him with the great salary he wants (400,000 pounds per week).
Rudiger, 29, who is called the “beating heart” of the Blues defense, has great experience gained by playing in more than one European league, with Stuttgart, Italy, AS Roma, Chelsea, England, in addition to his country’s national team. The German, Rudiger has been playing for Chelsea since 2017, coming from Roma for 35 million euros.
And the possibility of Rudiger leaving the Blues increases the suspicion that the London club is experiencing, after its owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, was expelled, and the club was offered for sale under the direct supervision of the British government.
The clubs of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain expressed their willingness to offer the imaginary salary to the German star, after negotiations with Chelsea stopped, due to the sanctions imposed on the club and the discussions surrounding its sale.
Rudiger was close to signing a new contract with the Blues, making him the highest-paid in the club’s history, but negotiations returned to “point zero” due to the intervention of one of the parties seeking to buy the club, to stop these negotiations.
Indeed, negotiations were frozen, with regard to Rudiger’s new contract, which included a relative response to his demands and a tangible increase in his salary.
Thus, Rudiger remains confused between the renewal of Chelsea, which would have been close to being achieved, had it not been for the recent events that occurred at the London club, and the tempting internal and external offers he received recently from major European clubs.
In the same context, German coach Thomas Tuchel was keen to draw the attention of the club’s management to the necessity of examining the contracts of other players, which expire in the “summer of 2023”, such as the French midfielders N’Golo Kante and the Italian Jorginho, so that what happens with them does not happen with them. The team’s defenders, whose contracts expire in June, are Denmark’s Andreas Christensen, Spain’s Cesar Azpilicueta, and Germany’s Antonio Rudiger.
