You don’t need many explanations. Just read the statement made public this Thursday by the platform ‘Wake up Atleti’a group that brings together almost 100 official supporters clubs of the rojiblanco club.
There are five paragraphs in which the opinion and feelings of thousands of athletic fans are summarized for everything that happened during and after the league derby against the real Madrid played on September 29 at the Metropolitano stadium.
The signatories reject the partial closure of the south end during the match against Leganés, harshly criticize the club for deciding not to sell tickets for the team’s next five trips and, in these circumstances, they announce that in the Day of the Peñasscheduled precisely for next Sunday, the atmosphere will not be festive.

«Given the latest news and information received by the press and the club, we are forced to write this statement, which was written and signed by dozens of Official Supporters of Club Atlético de Madrid.

It makes us very sad that it should be a day of celebration and joy in the stands, but it cannot be that way because 5,000 colleagues are on the streets after an absurd and disproportionate sanction. -In addition, we want to publicly denounce that not only will we be affected this Sunday, since many of us are subscribers to the Baja Fondo Sur Stand, but we see how the trips that we had planned, organized and paid for, cannot go ahead after the statement. that was issued yesterday by Club Atlético de Madrid.
-We consider it disproportionate, unfair, mean and very lacking in consideration for members to prohibit such a heterogeneous crowd from following their team away from home. Beyond the money (which we will claim)… Do the members/players deserve to experience this in the next trips? What precedents will be created? From here we invite the Club to reconsider and apologize, because Atlético de Madrid owes itself to its members and supporters clubs, and vice versa.
