Part of the Rust film crew left the set due to disagreements, and the people who replaced them acted unprofessional, handing Alec Baldwin a pistol loaded with a live round. His version of the incident was described by the first assistant of the cameraman who died on the set, Galina Hutchins, camera focusing specialist Aaron Chen, informs on Saturday, October 23rd, the radio station “Moscow Says”.
“It looks like at this moment she was filming in the first person format. I think the director was behind her, he sat down and looked at the monitor. That is why, after the shot, the bullet hit Galina’s stomach and then hit the director in the shoulder, ”he said, noting that safety rules were violated on the set.
Chen suggested that the filmmakers were trying to finish it quickly. According to him, military weapons are unacceptable on the set, they are allowed to be carried only by the guards or police officers who help the film crew. The person who handed over the loaded pistol to Baldwin was not a professional, the source said.
Earlier it became known that the American Hannah Reed, who was in charge of Alec Baldwin’s weapons on the set of Rust, was new to this profession.
During one of the scenes of the filming of the western, the star of the picture Alec Baldwin fired a pistol, which was supposed to have blank cartridges.
