The traditional all-around meeting in Ratingen will be canceled next year. The German Athletics Association (DLV) announced this on Friday. In 2026, the decathletes and heptathletes in Ratingen should go hunting for points again. “This decision was not easy for us. The Stadtwerke Ratingen all-around meeting is one of the beacons of German athletics and also has an excellent reputation internationally,” said Michael Mottl, Managing Director of DeutscheAthletics-Marketing GmbH: “We see it all the more as an obligation to live up to this reputation with a meeting -Alignment at the highest level. This would not have been possible in 2025 due to various factors.”
The reason for the cancellation was organizational difficulties. “The international competition calendar with the late World Championships in Tokyo (September 13th to 21st) and postponements in the World Athletics Combined Events Tour means that there is no attractive option for the top event and for the athletes to attend the World Cup. A suitable time window is available for qualification,” it said.
