Mexico City.- Around 10 at night the famous tree arrived ahuehuete, chosen by the residents of CDMX to replace to the mythical Palma de la roundabout on the Paseo de la Reforma.
The media and civil society gathered around the tree popularly known as the “Mexican tree” famous for having starred in historical events such as the Sad night, moment in which Hernán Cortés leaned on a ahuehuete to mourn the loss of half his troops.
The CDMX welcomed all the way up to the new tenant of the roundabout, the planting of the tree minute by minute was documented on the social networks of the Ministry of the Environment of the Government of Mexico City. It’s official, the “Mexican tree” is already planted in the heart of the city and, according to specialists, It won’t be for a short time. The ahuehuete can live up to 2 thousand years.
