The month of November enters its final stretch. This month has been marked by the intense DANA that has left catastrophic consequences in the province of Valencia and in some towns in Albacete. In recent weeks the weather has stabilized, leaving these events behind.
Regarding the weather this week, the Aemet has reported that the phenomena that may occur in Spain will be determined especially by the new storm Caetano. Among its effects, which can still be felt this weekend, are strong winds especially in the north and east of the peninsula, as well as a maritime storm in the Cantabrian Sea.
Windy weekend and entry of a new front
The Aemet forecast for this Friday, November 22, includes intervals of strong wind with very strong gusts on the eastern Cantabrian coast, in the eastern third and in Alborán and the Balearic Islands. Caetano will cause abundant cloudiness and some precipitation in the north of the Peninsula.
Some snowflakes may also fall. It will be in the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian mountain range and the elevation may drop to 600-900 m in the Pyrenees and 900-1200 m in the rest. The frosts will begin to gain prominence, although for now they will be weak in the northern mountains and somewhat more pronounced in the Pyrenees.
Regarding temperatures, will begin to descend in the Balearic Islands, northern half and southeast peninsular. In the rest of Spain, slight increases may occur.
For him Saturday Aemet predicts a predominance of the sun with a notable increase in temperatures, at a general level. This rise will be noticeable in the maximums in the Cantabrian Sea and the Northern Plateau. However, strong gusts of wind may continue in the Strait, Galicia and the Cantabrian area.
A Saturday of transition
The organization defines Saturday as a “transition day between the passage of a front associated with Caetano and the explosive cyclogenesis of Storm Bert over the British Isles.” This fact will make a new cold front approaches the Peninsula. As for rainfall, it is expected to be weak and dispersed in various parts of Spain, but more abundant in Galicia. Frost will continue in the northeastern mountains. “The maximum temperatures will tend to decrease in Mediterranean areas, with ascents predominating in the rest, notably in the Cantabrian Sea and the Northern Plateau,” explains Aemet.
Next days prediction:
Friday: Showers in the northern half of the peninsula in the first hours of the day; strong or very strong wind gusts in the east of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Frost in mountain areas of the northern peninsula.

Regarding the Sunday, The organization highlights that Storm Bert will deepen in the British Isles, so it is expected that the Associated cold front enters from the west and also affects the Canary Islands. In fact, Aemet expects that by the end of Sunday there may be rainfall in the northwest of the peninsula and the Canary Islands, as well as strong or very strong gusts of wind in the west of the peninsula.
