The Ministry of Defense announced this Friday that 500 soldiers are already arriving in the areas affected by the DANA, adding to the 1,200 who were already working to help those affected by the storm in the province of Valencia.
The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, has insisted in a message on the X social network account that there will be “all the necessary means, as long as necessary” to help the victims.
Some of the troops who have left their bases to help are the aviators of the Parachute Sapper Squadron, who left the Alcantarilla air base at dawn to support the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and all the people affected by the DANA.
In total, 500 more soldiers will join this day to the 1,200 who already work to help in the area and to the almost 400 vehicles and 15 helicopters that operate in the Valencian Community.
Meanwhile, the troops of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) continue working on the ground.
