Koeman is the highest scorer defender in the history of the Spanish league. In the Champions League it was not bad either, and closes the top5 thanks to his 13 goals. The competition was won in 1988 with PSV against Benfica (0-0 and 6-5 on penalties) and especially in 1992 with Barcelona against Sampdoria (1-0). He was the one who scored the unforgettable goal at Wembley to give the first European Cup to the club he currently coaches.
How many times have we seen players who passed through Real Madrid be at the top in statistical matters in this competition. Iván Helguera is one more example. The Cantabrian played 8 seasons in the Champions League with Real Madrid and one last season with Valencia. He won it in 2000 and 2002, but his course in between, 2000-01, in which he finished with 6 goals, stands out.

It’s rare not to see Sergio Ramos leading a scoring statistic. Even so, the current Paris Saint Germain player is barely 1 goal away from the all-time high of this competition. Of course, he has scored all of them with Real Madrid, especially the goal in the final of the Decima against Atlético de Madrid (4-1). Let’s see if the injuries give him a break and he can continue his career at his new club.
