Between global layoffs and protests in Berlin, it’s not an easy time for Tesla. And if there is a division that has trembled more than any other in recent weeks, it is that one dedicated to the Supercharger network, since just a few days ago Elon Musk, who is the CEO and founder of Tesla, announced that he would cancel it, consequently firing all his employees. Does this mean that the South African manager intends to abandon his charging network? The answer is no.
Half a billion in investments
In fact, Musk himself specified on his official Twitter profile that Tesla will invest over 500 million dollars to expand its Supercharger network, aiming to create thousands of new charging points this year. The US giant’s intention is to open new Supercharger stations and expand existing ones, though at a slower pace than that adopted to date.

As reported by Reuters, Elon Musk’s decision to cancel the Supercharger division dedicated to charging electric vehicles is putting in difficulty plans to roll out new fast charging stations, and could as a result to delay President Joe Biden’s efforts to electrify US highways.
