The authorities, in fact, are in possession of the footage of the cameras of the circuit. The Carabinieri, busy reconstructing with precision what happened on the track, have acquired the video documents that could prove decisive in clarifying the actual causes of the accident, which occurred around 5 pm. Nicola Cardinali was racing for a free practice session organized by an external promoter. During the laps on the circuit the tragedy occurred that destroyed his family and the many friends of the 29-year-old.
Nicola Cardinali, unfortunately, has lost control of the motorcyclefalling and violently impacting the track. The young man was immediately rescued by the circuit’s medical staff and rushed to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Perugia. The serious injuries sustained during the fall proved fatal, however, and the young man died during the transfer to the hospital.
The motorcycle involved was placed under kidnapping for further investigations. At the time of the accident, the young man was the only one on the track. Nicola Cardinali was well known in Marsciano for his passion. On Monday afternoon he had gone with some friends to the Magione circuit to devote himself to his great passion. It was an interest also cultivated in the name of his idol Valentino Rossi.
The 29-year-old was actively involved in the initiatives of the Ammeto neighborhood. The news of his tragic death has deeply shaken the community of Marsciano. The Autodromo dell’Umbria has expressed condolences and closeness to the family, as well as the municipal administration of Marsciano.
A press release reads: “The Municipality of Marsciano expresses deep emotion for the passing of Nicola Cardinali […] To the family and friends of the young man, we extend our closeness and our condolences on behalf of the entire community. During the funeral, a day of mourning will be declared”.
