Mexico City.- For the second time, the Specialized Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal determined that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador coerced the vote in favor of the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, and Morena.
In addition, the magistrates determined that the federal president violated the electoral norm because he also spoke at three morning conferences about government works and actions, which is also prohibited.
The first case is about the conferences of May 20 and 21.
During the morning press conference on May 24, the president again insisted that in order to continue with the social programs and achievements of this administration, it was necessary to win not only the Presidency, but also Congress.
In the first case, it was approved unanimously by the three councillors and in the second by two votes to one, by judge Rubén Lara, who stated that it lacked exhaustiveness.
However, it was proven that there was impartiality and inequity on the part of the Executive, as well as improper use of public resources, since the morning press conferences are held with government money.
Once again, since the president could not be sanctioned, the only thing that was given to the Presidential Comptroller’s Office was to apply corrective measures to his spokesperson and those in charge of holding the morning press conference.
During the session, the judges dismissed a complaint from a Morena deputy who accused the Morena leader, Mario Delgado, and the coordinator of the federal deputies of Morena, Ignacio Mier, of political violence, since the Chiapas native, who represents the indigenous sector, accused that they never let her go up to the podium, they did not support her initiatives and she even received telephone threats about the direction of her vote.
By two votes of the male judges, the complaint was declared unfounded; however, Judge Monica Lozano voted in favor and criticized that the cases are handled without an interpretation of the impact of the actions, since, as she considered, they will never proceed in that way.
