Italian Jannik Sinner has won late Sunday night in the final match of the US Open against the American By Taylor Fritz straight sets 6–3, 6–4, 7–5.

It is the second grand slam tournament victory of the 23-year-old Sinner, who is ranked number one in the world. The first came at the start of the year at the Australian Open.

Sinner became the first Italian man to win US Open singles.

Sinner has recently been in the midst of a doping frenzy. It was recently reported that he had given a doping sample containing a prohibited substance twice in March. It was the anabolic steroid clostebol.

Sinner explained that the banned substances had entered his body through a physical therapist. According to the explanation, the physiotherapist had used a spray containing a prohibited substance to treat his hand.

The international tennis integrity and fairness body Itia accepted the explanation after its investigations, and Sinner’s glory at the brightest top of the tennis world continues.
