What are the best already concluded manga that you absolutely must read? The success and diffusion of the world of manga is constantly expanding. In recent years, there has been an exponential growth in terms of the extension of the “phenomenon”, also and above all in our country, which has increasingly become one of the homelands of an ever stronger and more deeply rooted industry. Manga, to put it simply, has definitively stopped being a niche product and has become – definitively – a fundamental point in the lives of many young people and beyond. Moreover, the increasingly broad nature of products and above all the ability to vary and range more and more from theme to theme is an example of what has been stated. Manga has become a massive communication mechanism. In recent years, more and more works have achieved incredible diffusion, with some products, in particular, generating frightening media potential. From Slam Dunk to Claymore, from Berserk to Demon Slayer: the success of manga has also broken the barriers of genres and targets, further demonstrating the growth not only of the quality of the products but also of the ever-increasing “hunger” of readers.
But, as we know, all stories have an end and manga are no exception. Do you know the sadness when your favorite series ends or you finish a game that you are incredibly fond of? Exactly, unfortunately, this is how it works for manga too and every fan knows it well. Obviously, a good story remains a good story even if it doesn’t have a sequel, which is why we decided to draw up a list of the ten most interesting completed manga (plus one) to recover. We would like to underline that the list is very subjective, although it also takes care to take into consideration the media importance of the product in question. Shall we get started?
The manga par excellence: Naruto
For a piece like this, it is truly impossible not to start from Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto’s masterpiece. Yes, we know, we are not faced with an absolute masterpiece, but it is clear that, in any case, the shonen in question represented the heart of an entire generation of fans and it is undeniable that it has reached qualitative peaks important at certain times.
One of the most loved shonen battles of all time: Bleach
In the years of Narutotogether with the pillar one piece still ongoing, but will be concluded soon, uAnother hit was definitely Bleach. For many years fans have been divided in this regard, but overall it is impossible not to mention the great success of Tite Kubo among the most interesting and important manga to be recovered in every fan’s library, perhaps even taking advantage of the new edition currently being published.
The biggest commercial success of recent years: Demon Slayer
Staying on the subject of battle shonen, it’s impossible not to bring it up Demon Slayer. The pearl of Kyoraou Gotouge has represented, in recent times, a real “crack”, which has become a real mass phenomenon. Let’s be clear: the final part of the manga probably wasn’t able to keep the quality exactly sky high (at least for the writer) but overall we are still faced with one of the most complete and interesting works of recent years.
A small pearl of the world of manga: Origin
The “first” success of Boichifrom our point of view, is one of those gems that are difficult to forget. Origin, despite not exactly sensational success and media coverage, is a product of incredible quality, both on a technical and narrative level. If you like manga based on dark stories, with a slightly steampunk tone and so on, in short, you absolutely cannot miss it.
The cult manga of dark fantasy: Claymore
Remaining on the subject of dark but at the same time super intriguing works and with a top-level authorial attitude, we are preparing to launch a small series of products of absolute value. And, obviously, we can’t help but start with Claymore, which from our point of view is perhaps the most complete, intriguing and exciting dark fantasy genre manga ever. Okay, not everyone really liked the ending, but the overall value of the work is truly indisputable.
A rough gem only half finished: Jagan
We told you before: are you a fan of dark and splatter manga? You are exactly in the right place, because this top 10 can boast a nice array of works in its ranks. One of these it is definitely Jagana manga created by another duo with great potential: Kensuke Nishida and especially Muneyuki Kaneshirofamous for having also created the very famous BlueLock. Jagan is a very particular manga, even on a narrative level, but we can assure you that it can really keep you glued throughout the thirteen volumes that make up the series. Trust us.
An emotional tale: The Promised Neverland
For the series “dark fantasy manga are our bread” we necessarily have to include it in the list The Promised Neverland, manga concluded a few years ago and which has resulted in a resounding success, also for the authors Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu. The story of the little orphans of Grace Field House has made even the most skeptical and insensitive of fans jump out of their seats and, we are sure, that it will have the same effect on you too, as long as we take into account that (again from our point of view) the second part of the work is decidedly less “performing” than the first.
The great masterpiece of Oba and Obata: Death Note
And, remaining on the subject of dark and dark-toned manga, we clearly cannot fail to include it in this list death Noteto date the most famous work (not the most beautiful, mind you!) of the duo Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Oba. The story of Lightof the shinigami, of the mysterious “death notebook” and of the famous Ryuzaki it has fascinated millions of enthusiasts and, even today, it enjoys resounding success, and it is certainly no coincidence.
Oba and Obata’s greatest masterpiece: Bakuman
The most beautiful work of Oba And Obata it is not death Note. Lor we said a little while ago and we repeat it, and not by chance. We want to place the most famous duo in the industry on the top step of the very personal podium Bakuman, which has literally excited and passionate us for a very long time. The story of the two young mangakas which somewhat reflects the path of the two authors is an intimate and introspective journey, told in a graceful way by the expert hand (and mind) of the two mangakas. The manga is recently available in a new edition which you can find on Amazon.
The spokon par excellence: Slam Dunk
If you are passionate about sports and consequently about spokonbut not only that, you cannot fail to know Slam Dunks. Otherwise, we don’t want to waste too much time and we don’t want to make you waste time: run and recover it. The master’s manga Takehiko Inoue represents a real pillar for the entire industry, and has managed to achieve sensational success and diffusion regardless of the genre and the topic covered, thanks to an obsessive attention to every single aspect of the production. There’s no need to say anything else, right?
+1: tear-jerking manga recommendation: Orange
In closing we want to recommend a very small pearl: Orange. The sad love story told by Ichigo Takano it had a very short life cycle, but it still managed to conquer the minds and hearts of millions of fans, thanks above all to a sublime and impactful narrative structure. If you haven’t already read it, in short, fix it as soon as possible.
What manga would you like to recommend? Which of these have you already recovered or do you want to recover in the next period? Let us know in the comments!
