The government extended the deadlines for payment of federal taxes, including installments, and the fulfillment of ancillary obligations in the 336 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul that were affected by the floods. The deadline for declaring Income Tax was also extended.4

Extension of tax payments
Federal taxes due in April, May and June 2024 will be extended to the last business day of July, August and September 2024, respectively, in cities experiencing calamity.
The deadlines for carrying out procedural acts in Federal Revenue administrative processes of interest to taxpayers domiciled in the affected municipalities were also suspended until May 31, 2024.
Micro and small companies and individual microentrepreneurs will also have their tax payments postponed for 30 days. Taxes relating to taxable events in April, which should be paid by May 20th, will be transferred to June 20th. Taxes on May taxable events, which would expire on June 20th, will be extended to July 22nd.
More deadline to declare income tax
The date for submitting the Personal Income Tax Declaration for citizens of municipalities experiencing calamity was postponed from May 31st to August 31st.

Anticipation of IR2024 Refund
Taxpayers in Rio Grande do Sul who have filed their IR declaration will have priority in paying the refund. The payment that would be made during the year will be made in June.
