A group of people filed a class action lawsuit against the Target store chain for violating the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Chicago, which states that strictly prohibits any company from collecting data such as facial recognition from its consumers without written consent. The lawsuit seeks that each affected customer in the United States receive US$5,000 as compensation for damages.
