Ex-minister and ex-mayor are tied at the limit of the margin of error; survey was conducted from 27th to 29th of October
Research Ipec (formerly Ibope) released this Saturday (29.Oct.2022) on the 2nd round dispute by the government of São Paulo shows the former Minister of Infrastructure Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) with 52% of the valid votes in the state. the former mayor Fernando Haddad (EN) has 48%.
As the survey’s margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points, candidates are on the brink of a technical tie.
In the 1st round, Tarcísio took the lead and had 42.32% of the valid votes, against 35.70% of the PT opponent.
The result in valid votes includes only the intentions attributed to a candidate, excluding blank and null votes. That’s how the TSE will release the results on Sunday evening, October 30th.
In total votes, the score is now 46% to 42% for the former Bolsonaro minister. White and null are 7%, while 5% could not answer. In the Ipec poll (formerly Ibope) released on Tuesday (Oct 25), Tarcísio had 46% of the total votes, and Haddad, 43%.
The survey polled 2,000 voters in person October 23-29, 2022. The margin of error is 2 percentage points at a 95% confidence interval. was hired by Globo Group for BRL 167,960.00. It is registered with the TSE under number SP-03129/2022.
