In the final considerations of the debate on TV Bandeirantes, the Republican candidate for the government of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, bet on a speech focused on social changes in the state. Fernando Haddad, PT’s name to the state government, also mentioned projects of social interest, but took the opportunity to extol the need for an alignment between the state and national executives.
Tarcísio decided to deny the image of a “professional politician”, but a “hands-on engineer” who learned from “the simplest”. In defending his name as the new governor of São Paulo, the former Minister of Infrastructure believes that his government program is “very well built” and emphasizes the focus given to housing, health and employment.
At the end of his remarks, the Republican candidate took the opportunity to make a stand for the current president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). “Vote Bolsonaro,” he said, citing the president’s ballot box number.
Despite being adversaries, Tarcísio and Haddad’s considerations converged with a focus on housing. “Basically, what we want is for people to get to know us a little more, to get to know the solutions that we have to present,” said the PT candidate.
When making a stand for former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who is running with Bolsonaro in the presidential runoff, the former mayor of São Paulo defended the importance of greater dialogue with the national executive. “Having the doors of the Planalto Palace open”, he said, criticizing the current Executive with the secret budget and the decree of several secrecy.
