It sure seems like it Tango Gameworks was working on two new games before his sudden closure by Microsoftdemonstrating how the maneuver was quite drastic and probably surprised even the developers themselves.
The information comes from what was reported by a former team member, Tsuyoshi Okugawa, in his LinkedIn profile, reported through a post on
As we can see, these are not exactly official communications and there are no details about it, but it seems that the team was working on two games not yet announced at the time it was closed as a consequence of the large staff cuts decided by Microsoft for the divisions of Bethesda.
A CV reveals (perhaps) two projects
The curriculum states that Tsuyoshi Okugawa he was working as a Graphics Programmer in 2024 and as a Lead Programmer in 2023 and 2024, in both cases on an “as yet unannounced title”.
To tell the truth, reported like this, it could also be the same game in which Okugawa played a double role, but according to various interpretations it would actually be two different games, although these are only suppositions.
Remaining within the realm of hypotheses, we can think that one of the two games was a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush, given that this had already been previously aired as a concrete possibility for Tango Gameworks, while the other could have been a sequel to Ghostwire : Tokyo, considering that the latter was leaked from Microsoft documents that emerged during the trial with the FTC for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Unfortunately, the closure of Tango will not allow us to see the two titles in question, nor better understand their identity, unless it can emerge from some posthumous revelation.
