Wētā Workshop and publisher Private Division today unveiled the first official trailer Of Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game, thus offering us a first taste of this project that remained shrouded in mystery for a long time. Guidance on publication has also been offered, with the launch confirmed during the course of 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
As we can see from the trailer and based on the details shared previously, Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings brings us in the Shire of the Lord of the Rings to let us live a Hobbit life in a setting surrounded by greenery, relaxing and peaceful.
A relaxing life in the Shire of the Lord of the Rings
It will be possible to walk through the streets of Lungacque (“Bywater” in the English version) and in the surrounding forests, fish, shop at the market, cook delicious dishes for our friends, furnish our home as we like, grow plants and flowers.
The first video also suggests the presence of a weather system linked to the passing of seasonswith snow-covered trees and cold-toned colors in winter, contrasted with the more lively and warmer ones of summer.
In short, from the few glimpsed sequences the idea is that Tales of the Shire is a sort of life simulator similar to an Animal Crossing or a Stardew Valley. We will definitely find out more information about it in the coming months.
