The sources added that Syrian air defenses shot down a number of missiles.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported: “More than 9 explosions occurred in the city of Homs and its countryside, caused by unknown missiles likely to be Israeli falling near the Homs refinery, Qusayr and the Auras farms on the outskirts of the city of Homs, where there are military points for the regime forces and Lebanese Hezbollah in the area.” A missile also exploded in a building in the Hadara neighborhood in Homs, likely resulting from the fall of the remnants of a missile launched by the Syrian air defense forces, as the regime’s ground-based anti-aircraft missiles attempted to confront the missiles, without any information being received about initial human losses.”
According to the Syrian Observatory, Israel has targeted Syrian territory 9 times since the beginning of 2024, 6 of which were air strikes and 3 ground. These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of about 26 targets, including weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, centers, and vehicles.
These strikes killed 24 soldiers, in addition to wounding 7 others with varying injuries, according to the Syrian Observatory.
