Summer|Next week, the temperature can reach up to 30 degrees.
May it has been warm and sunny in Finland. The Finnish Meteorological Institute writes a message service in X, that eleven hot days have been measured so far. During the statistics that started in 1961, the most hot days have been measured in May in 2018. Then there were fourteen hot days in May in total.
“The weather continues to be hot, so it is possible that that record will be broken”, writes the Finnish Meteorological Institute.
The warm weather also inspired the Coast Guard to update message service X with the weekend’s news.
“The summer weather and the thunderstorm front staying on the mainland guaranteed a rush for the Coast Guard over the weekend. Thanks to the shallow water, the boaters found plenty of new rocks,” the message says.
Forecan forecast according to Helleraja, it could hit again in the coming week. On Monday and Tuesday, it would reach 28 degrees, but on Wednesday it may break up to 30 degrees locally.
The hot weather seems to continue at the end of the week, but showers and thunderstorms will become more common.
For Monday, Foreca predicts 23–28 degrees in the southern and central parts of Finland. In Northern Ostrobothnia, Kainuu and Southern Lapland it is mostly 19–24 degrees and in Central and Northern Lapland 10–20 degrees.
in Finland the terrain is very dry, and there have been several wildfires on Sunday. For example, there has been a wildfire in Kuusamo, Juuma, which was spotted from a fire control aircraft in the afternoon. The rescue service estimated at two in the afternoon that the fire area had been largely contained. Difficult terrain made extinguishing work difficult.
In the crash, a wildfire started from a barrel in which wood waste had been burned. The fire spread to the terrain with the strong wind. The rescue service limited the spread of the fire.
A wildfire warning is in effect throughout Finland, which means that open fires are prohibited.
Foreca weather forecast does not promise relief from the dryness of the terrain. The rain showers are mostly local.
During the day on Monday, showers are promised mainly in the central part of Finland and central Lapland, but as the afternoon progresses, showers will spread to central and northern Lapland from the west. There can also be thunder in connection with the rain showers in Lapland.
On Tuesday, individual rain showers are possible in the central part of Finland. In the north, afternoon showers can be expected in places.
