Selaya This Saturday it hosted the II Livestock Fair of the Pisueña Valleywhich has been a complete success with more than 1,000 head of cattle. The main event of the day was the traditional pass of cattlealthough throughout the day there have also been various recreational events, such as pilgrimages, gymkhanas, games, barbecue, bingo and festivalwhich will last until the early hours of the morning.
The event has been organized on Town councils of Selaya, Villacarriedo, Vega de Pas, Santiurde de Toranzo, San Pedro del Romeral and San Roque de Río Mieraco-organizers of the Fair. This second edition has meant a consolidation of this Fair, which provides for the preservation of livestock heritage.

PASS OF COWS
The traditional Pasá de Vacas is an event that consists of a parade of cattle, accompanied by music and folklore celebrations. This is intended to commemorate the usual walk to the mountain with the summer change.
Usually, the days before the event, the ranchers They gather their cows and prepare them for the winter that are closer. While they do that, event organizers arrange rosettes, music and everything related to the parade, which begins early in the day.
On the day of the Passa, the animals too the traditional bells look and a meal is organized in the same meadow that the cows share, before taking a vote.
