Fear and accidents
The brand new all-female WorldWCR championship couldn’t have started worse in terms of accidents. The opening race of the season scheduled for Misano – which had been postponed from the morning to the afternoon today after the red flag waved due to the terrible crash involving the Norwegian Mia Rushten – was in fact also marred in the ‘second attempt’ by a dramatic accident. This time the South African driver is the protagonist Jessica Howdenslipped at the start.
Hospitalization in Cesena
The dynamics of the crash are not very clear, because no replays of the incident have been proposed, but the impression is that the girl was thrown from the saddle when exiting Turn 2 and was perhaps hit by another motorbike. Howden suffered cranioencephalic trauma and was transported by helicopter to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena. From what we have been able to learn, however, the girl is conscious.
Herrera beats Carrasco
However, after this second red flag, the race restarted. The victory went to Maria Herrera, who emerged victorious after a truly spectacular duel in which she faced Ana Carrasco on purpose.
