The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Luís Roberto Barroso, ordered the interruption of the counting of procedural deadlines in all actions in the Court that involve Rio Grande do Sul and its municipalities or that originate in state courts.
The procedural deadlines were suspended between May 2nd and 10th. The measure was taken due to the floods that hit several municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul, including the capital, Porto Alegre. The state government declared a state of calamity. Until now, 55 deaths were confirmed.
