Steve Carrell to star in new comedy series from Matt Tarses and Bill Lawrence, creators of ‘Scrubs’, HBO reported this Monday through a statement.
The ten-episode series does not yet have an official title, but the plot will focus on “the complicated relationship between an author and his daughter,” and will take place on a university campus, according to the platform’s writing.

Bill Lawrence, also known for his work on series such as ‘Ted Lasso’ or ‘Shrinking’, on Apple TV, and Tarses, Emmy nominated for ‘Scrubs’ and writer of series like ‘The Goldbergs’ or ‘Sports Night’, will write the first episode and will be executive producers of the series.
The project, for which an approximate release date was not announced, is a collaboration between Doozer and Warner Bros. Television.
“HBO has long been a standard-bearer for quality television. Doing a show with them and Steve Carell is a watershed in our careers for both Matt and me. Nothing can go wrong now,” Lawrence said in the statement.
Steve Carellwho has been recognized worldwide for his role as Michael Scott in the series ‘The Office’, is currently working on the play ‘Uncle Vanya’, and will star in the Netflix series ‘The Four Seasons’.
