The topic of industrial production in the automotive sector in Italy is still at the center of political discussion. in particular, the Government's attention is still focused on the Stellantis group's plans regarding the Italian factories. The Minister of Business and Made Italy Adolfo Urso spoke again on the topic and anticipated the creation of a table dedicated precisely to the reality born from the merger between FCA and PSA, within the automotive table.
A table dedicated to Stellantis factories
“The automotive table was joined by a specific Stellantis table with the company, the 8 Regions in which the factories are located, the unions and Anfia. We hope that the work of this table, which will be concluded before the summer, will make it clear to the whole country what the company's commitment is, how this is expressed in the individual plants also with regards to training, redundancy payments where is used, and employment”.
Ultimatum to Stellantis?
Urso then underlined how the Government's intention is to clarify Stellantis' intentions as best as possible and how this could also be the last opportunity to lend a helping hand to the group: “Making a multinational change course is not that simple, we realize that they have to change their projects. We cannot expect it in a few months, but the direction must be clear and it must be planned. We are making this attempt to give a last significant chance to a multinational that was born here in Italy, we hope that it will remain strongly in Italy with its roots and its production”.
