Bethesda published Starfield's “biggest update” today for everyone: patch 1.9.51.0 is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The big one update 1.9.51.0or what Bethesda defines as “the biggest update seen so far” for Starfieldand now available for everyone on PC and Xbox Seriesafter leaving its beta phase in which it was in the Steam version.
“Let it be light! And, above all, let it be improve!” Bethesda wrote announcing the launch of the new update for Starfield, officially available from today, January 30, 2024, on PC and Xbox Series
This is the same update tested with the Beta on Steam in recent days, now implemented and made available to all Starfield players on all platforms.
The patch notes they are many and varied because the update goes to touch many elements of the gamestill remaining practically the same as what we had seen also for the beta version, although the version number has changed and another adjustment for a case of crash on PC has been added, added at a later time.
From graphics to quality of life
As we have seen, the patch improves several technical aspects of the game starting from graphicsto achieve stability and performance, as well as improvements in terms of “quality of life” for players, implementing various changes also requested through feedback.
Among the improvements we find various adjustments to animations and the movement and positioning of characters and creatures, as well as the rendering of 3D models, eyes and skin. In graphic terms the management of light and shadowsas well as reflections, especially on the surface of the water, and the textures of different surfaces.
Some of these improvements are easily visible even by looking at videos and images taken from Starfield in the version before and after the patch, with evident differences in various situations. Bethesda confirms an update every 6 weeks
“We are grateful to all of you for the feedback you have sent us. We have received it and will continue to monitor and track the criticisms and reported problems”, wrote Bethesda in support of the announcement of the launch of the patch in question.
The team also reiterated its commitment to publishing a update every 6 weeks throughout 2024: “As anticipated last year, we will publish regular updates approximately every 6 weeks, so if you don't see the issue you reported among the correct ones, don't lose hope! Continue to share feedback and reports to help us prioritize to our interventions”.
