Among the many announcements that have arrived from this intense week of summer conferences, there is also that of the release date of Squirrel with a Gun, the crazy shooter in which we play a wild squirrel capable of wielding guns and other lethal weapons. The release date is set for August 29th for PCwhile the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions is scheduled for autumn.
For those who don’t know, it’s one Sandbox shooter with platformer elements over the top where we play the role of an uncommon squirrel who one day learns to use firearms, thus deciding to unleash chaos to obtain some golden acorns. Clearly the plot is not the flagship of the production, which rather aims to entertain with absurd and action-packed situations.
The new gameplay trailer for Squirrel with a Gun
The announcement was accompanied with a new gameplay trailer, which you can find below, which shows some of the guns that the protagonist will be able to wield to eliminate threats that have the impudence to get in his way. Among these we find a classic 9mm pistol and a six-shot revolver, but as we progress through the adventure we will be able to make a clean sweep using grenade launchers, bazookas and sniper rifles, with each weapon equipped with unique and crazy finishers.
In addition to fighting, we see the protagonist try his hand at some activities with less bloodshed, such as wake surfing, American football, a sort of parody of the game “The floor is lava” and races aboard radio-controlled cars.
