In October 2021, Square Enix gave us Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, the latest game from Yoko Taro, creator of NieR. Although this title received a positive reception from critics, sales were not exceptional. Thus, it is a great surprise to hear that a sequel to this title has not only been confirmed, but will be arriving in a matter of days.
Through a trailer, it has been revealed Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maidenthe sequel to the title we saw last year, which will be available on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 17, 2022. This is the description offered by Square Enix:
“Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is set on a remote chain of islands that have been protected by the maidens for generations, but now face destruction. The hero of the story swears to save the islanders and sets sail for the high seas, together with Laty, a girl who failed to become a maiden.
The second game in the unique Voice of Cards series, where all elements are fully presented through the cards, in the tradition of role-playing games and board game books.”
The Forsaken Maiden will continue to use the card visual style that characterized the first title in the series. For all fans of the first title, as well as the NieR and Drakengard series, Yoko Taro is back as creative directorKeiichi Okabe will once again be in charge of music, and Kimihiko Fujisaka will once again be in charge of character designs.

Editor’s Note:
This is a genuine surprise. Even if Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars I quite liked it, I didn’t expect a sequel to be available so quickly. I can’t wait to have this title, and once again enjoy the world that Yoko Taro has created.
